These are some of my angels.

Country Angel Ornament

    SUPPLIES
  • 1" wooden knob
  • Dowel (size to fit the hole of the wooden knob) cut to 6"
  • l8 gauge wire, cut to 6" long
  • 1/4 yd. fabric (country print)
  • 6" length of narrow gold cord
  • 20" of 1 1/2" wide ruffled lace
  • Narrow ribbon (color to match fabric)
  • 2" wide gold wired ribbon
  • Gold tinsel stem (pipe cleaner)
  • 1/2" wide gold trim (1/2 yd)
  • Needle & thread
  • Small amount of doll hair
  • Paint for face
  • Glue

Paint face on wooden ball. While drying, cut a piece of material 4"X 10". With needle and thread take a running stitch about 1/8" from the top of the long edge, and gather.

Glue dowel into the hole of the wooden ball.
Glue gold trim to the bottom of the fabric, long length.
Pull gathers around the dowel just under the ball, glue to secure.

Take the wire and run it through the top casing of the ruffled lace, turn each end of the wire in to secure lace. Tie a piece of ribbon 1/4" up from the end of the wire on each side, leaving long tails.
Glue remaining piece of gold trim around the neck, (to hide the stitching).
Bend the wire in the middle and glue in the back, where the ball meets the dowel.

Find the middle of the gold wired ribbon and twist, glue to back where wire arms are glued.

Glue hair on to top of the head.

Snip a 3" long piece of tinsel stem and form a circle and wrap ends around themselves. Glue halo to hair.

Cut a 6" piece of gold cord and glue each end to each side of the ball (this is the hanger).

Hope you enjoy making this adorable angel. Give it to someone, they will remember your thoughtfulness and talent.
