Celebrate this Chistmas with an Advent tree made of tiny fabric-covered boxes, each with a small surprise inside.

To attach the lids, use a craft knife to slice down through two corners of each lid to create a hinged flap. Cover the lids with fabric. Glue the hinge to one side of the box to create a hinged door.
Place the cone on fabric and roll the fabric around the cone and glue. Trim any excess fabric.
Arrange the boxes on the cone, stacking them for placement. Now glue the boxes around the cone. For the best effect, allow a little space between the boxes for ease in opening the lids.
Trim edges of boxes with ribbon, braid, buttons, jewel or fruit.
Fill in spaces between the boxes with assorted leaves and fruit.
To finish add a small arrangement of fruit and leaves and a bow to the lid of the top box.
The hard part is deciding what great little gifts to put in each box, candy, jewelry, toy, money, etc
