EGG SHELL CANDLES
Materials
Clean empty egg shell
craft paint
bulk candle wax
pan for melting wax
wick for candle
egg cup
Instructions
Paint the inside and outside of the egg shell (two different colors are best). Let dry.
Melt wax and prepare wick.. Now pour the wax into the egg shell. (putting the egg shell in the egg cup will keep it up right. If you are doing many, using the empty egg carton to set the shells in and add the wax will work well.)
Ways they can be used.
Imagine your Easter table with different pastel colored egg shell candles at each persons place setting. (A nice gift to take home.) At Christmas, the shells done in all red and green colors, set between greenery in the middle of a table. Thanksgiving, orange and gold colors, with leaves and acorns. Well you get the idea, it is endless.
Every Easter my family colors eggs with
onion skins, it is a Russian tradition. We then
each pick an egg and tap each others end of the
egg. The person left with an uncracked end of the
egg will have good luck for the year.
COLORING EASTER EGGS
In a large pot put a bunch of onion skins and cover
with water. Let that slow boil for 30 minutes. Add
eggs and let cook for 10 minutes, till hard boiled.
When you lift the eggs out of the pot, they will be a
rich sienna color.
